Photographic and Mirrored works by Iris Fraser and Chris Speck

Cafe Art is a collection of works made with old mirrors and removal processes: taking away the silvering of large sheets of mirror to create organic, and sometimes structured, patterns and images. Iris Fraser creates frames from the mirrors, mounting behind them a series of photographic prints from South American tourist photos taken with a cheap point-and-shoot 35mm camera. Chris Speck turns mirrors into graphic abstractions, the reflective patterns enhanced with vibrant colours. Made to be shown outside of the gallery context, the show takes place in a Kensington Market restaurant. The opening takes place during bar hours. Come out, have a drink and dance.
